Representing In Kente: Michaela Coel Wins Bafta For Female Performance

Michaela Coel, 28 years old poet, actress and writer of the comedy series, Chewing Gum has won a Bafta award for Best Female performance in a comedy programme.

It is the actress’s second Bafta and she looked stunning on the red carpet wearing a Ghanaian Kente fabric dress hand made by her mother, how cool is that?

Known for its crude jokes and hilarious storylines, Chewing Gum is hit Channel E4 comedy show, starring Coel now set for a raunchier second series. Michaela Coel
