#TFAASpotlight: David Asiamah, championing a growth through Agro businesses

David Asiamah is the founder and CEO of the Agro Mindset Group of companies which comprises of the; Agro Mindset Organisation, Agro Mindset Farms, Agro Mindset Brokerage, Agro Mindset Logistics, Youth in Agriculture Support and the Ghana Young Farmer Awards. 

He is one of the select few of Ghana’s real farmers and farmpreneurs. He holds an MSC in (Agriculture and Development) from the University of Reading, UK. 

Agro Mindset is a mission driven firm specializing in agribusiness ventures. The organisation runs a highly profitable farm-based enterprise with long term growth potential and showcase this know-how to young aspiring farmers in an industry relevant matter.

The group is at the forefront of agriculture education preparing interested youth in diverse functions, industries and academia to master aspects of late twenty-first century agriculture, which places emphasis on sustainable development. They also help with creating value chains, entrepreneurship and ‘farming as a business’ which lends support services to entrepreneurs in the valuation and planning of value-added agriculture.

  2. He received the African Achiever Awards for Agriculture excellence.
  3. The Future Awards Africa Prize for agriculture winner, 2015
  4. Ghana UK Based Awards for recognition of innovation and best practice in corporate sustainability after his nomination at the House of Commons.
  5. He made the list of Ghana Top 30 under 30.

Agro Mindset Farms is winner of Best Poultry in the Afgiya Kwabre District of Ghana.

He has kicked off a campaign in the agriculture industry called “Green Revolution” in Africa which according to him will “focus exclusively on educating the youth on the prospects of agriculture, encouraging students to pursue agriculture related programmes in higher academia.”

His firm “Agro Mindset Group” is focused on breaking stereotypes and awakening young people to an industry that is exciting, dynamic and vital to the future of the planet as they establish global, sustainable platforms to create a sustainable positive change.

David strongly believes that “innovation and creativity are invaluable assets in today’s global economy and that the youth should be allowed to experiment with ideas that have the propensity to change the way we live.”

“I am confident of the critical role that my leadership of youth in agriculture plays in sustaining the fragile sector, and the potential to other youth keeps me motivated. I go about my work filled with pride and honour as a young Ghanaian farmer.” he says.
