Gambia (#Gambia)

Musu Kuta Komma, country director ChildFund, The Gambia, has disclosed that they have disbursed over five million dalasi to the most vulnerable families as Covid-19 response.

She said: “3758 families have benefitted from our cash transfer programme channeled through community-based credit unions at the level of our three local partners and part of the LRR. We are committed to continue.

Ghana (#NSMQ2020)

A competition, the National Science and Maths Quiz for the year 2020 is currently on-going in Ghana. Apparently, it is an important competition in the country. It is a competition between schools and one school has all the attention, Adisco. Here are some tweets to give context;

Guinea-Bissau

  1. Principal Magistrate, Isatou Janneh-Njie of Kanifing Magistrates’ Court in her findings to unearth the circumstances surrounding the death of Danuario Wonde Beducande Findan, a Bissau Guinean national, has concluded that the deceased committed suicide by hanging himself with support from the step of the toilet door.
  2. Hon. Mohamadou (Papa) Njie was appointed ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria by His Excellency President of the Republic of the Gambia.

Liberia

  1. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has repatriated 43 stranded Liberian migrants from Senegal to their motherland, Liberia. The migrants were received by the Head of the Reintegration Department of IOM Liberia office, Mr. Tamba Siaffa and the Liberia Government through Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) at the Robert International Airport (RIA) in Margibi County recently.

The Independent Human Rights Investigators (IHRI) with support from Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF) is currently implementing a reparation pilot project in Bong and Grand Bassa Counties.

Implementation of the project, which is expected to last up to February 2021, is intended to give citizens, including war victims, a voice to hold their local leaders and lawmakers accountable in terms of accessing the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Report.

Nigeria

Davido has terminated the contract Lil Frosh had with DMW.
